Q: How do I submit payment for an ad insertion?
A: Purchase orders will be accepted subject to credit approval. For
orders requiring prepayment, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American
Express, Discover, Bravo, Private Issue, and personal checks for your
convenience.
Q: How do NEJM's discount programs work?
A: NEJM discount programs are designed to allow advertisers to expand
the scope of their message without greatly increasing the cost. For

Q: Is my company allowed to have a hot link to the NEJM website?

Q: How many inserts per issue should I send?
A: The number of inserts you need to send varies if you are doing a ROB

Q: To what address do I need to send the inserts? How many weeks prior to the issue date does the printer need to receive them?

Boxes should be clearly marked “Inserts for NEJM” and must be shipped together, separated by issue date (multiple issues need to be clearly identified and separated). Brown Printing needs to receive your inserts 20 days prior to the issue date.

Q: How do I cancel my ad, or change the issue in which it will appear?
A: Cancellations must be received in writing 24 days before the issue
date for full-page ROB ads. Fractional ads may be canceled 20 days
before issue date. Late cancellations are subject to full space charges
up to a four-page unit. Note: All verbal cancellations or changes must
be followed with a written confirmation. Please call to confirm receipt
of cancellation.

Q: How do I place a classified ad in the New England Journal of Medicine?

Q: How do I calculate the cost of a classified line ad?
A: Costs of classified line ads in the New England Journal of Medicine are calculated by the word. There are three frequency rates available: run your ad 1 time = $5.65 per word; 2x, 4x = $5.25 per word; 5x or more = $4.95 per word. Boldface type is available at additional cost; entire ad must be boldface.
Q: How do I cancel my classified ad, or change the issue in which it will appear?
A: Cancellations must be confirmed in writing and must be transmitted
via fax no later than 20 days prior to the issue date. Any classified
ad canceled after the deadline will result in a charge of $25. The
cancellation fee for classified display ads is 100% of the space
charge.
Q: What is the New England Journal of Medicine's policy on classified ads?
A: All advertisements for employment must be nondiscriminatory and
comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Ads that discriminate
against applicants on the basis of sex, age, race, religion, marital
status, or physical handicap will not be accepted. All ads must be
clearly germane to the practice of medicine. All classified line ads
are set in the same typeface, unless bold type is requested. All
classified line ads are subject to the grammatical consistency
guidelines of the New England Journal of Medicine.
